P90X.....Are we ready for this?

One of the New Year's Resolutions that Barrett and I decided to tackle together is getting in good physical shape. We are both down to healthy weights so we decided that a little exercise cannot hurt anything only improve the quality of our lives. As some of you know, moma and daddy gave us all a cruise for Christmas. The cruise falls in April. This was just the motivation we needed to get our gears moving and set up a fitness routine. We checked around and decided that although hard (probably one of the most brutal out there right now) the P90X was the one we would try. We can't do a gym together. We have 2 kids and cannot pawn them off on someone for a couple hours each night and we wanted something we could do together to motivate each other. So our P90X came in just over a week ago. We got it in on a Friday and started it on a Friday. We were motivated and ready to do this. I'm not going to lie to anyone or sugar coat anything...this was hard. But it felt soooo good the next day. The muscles that hadn't been used in so long were finally awoken. We continued for the entire first week exercising at night after the kids went to bed. This seemed to be very time consuming. Most of the routines run between an hour to an hour and a half. This didn't give us any down time in our day. So when our week started over, we changed things up. We started yesterday morning working out in the morning. We get up between 4:30 and 5 now....do our exercise, get ready for work/school, then when we get home in the afternoon we've got down time together once the kids go to bed. It's only been 2 days like this but it seems to be working. I'm loving the extra energy throughout the day. Hopefully we can stick with this. As we progress, I will try to keep everyone posted. AND, if I get brave enough, at the end of our 90 days, I may post before and after pics. Wish us luck....we are definitely going to need it!!!

Weekend at Home!

After the potty training that happened on Friday, we spend Saturday taking all of the Christmas stuff down and putting it away. We let the kids just play around the house and pop their left over fireworks. Sunday we watched the game, ate lunch at moma and daddy's house, and just played around the house playing games and doing arts and crafts. These weekends just relaxing with my family are my favorites.

Potty Training Time!

This past weekend was a 3 day weekend and the start of the New Year. I started my 3 day weekend on Friday by kicking Barrett and Elena out of the house. Landon and I were going to potty train. I know, why do I have to kick them out to do that. Because I found a book that told me to. This book is called "Toilet Training in Less Than A Day". Wonder what its about. I decided I didn't want Landon still in diapers when we go on our cruise so why not start potty training now. I only have time to lose so why not try out this method that promises me my son will be toilet trained in less than a day. Everyone was skeptical, myself included. I am now proud to say it only took one day and my son is potty trained. He is even waking up in middle of the night to use the potty. Yay him! I'm so proud of my little man. So anyone out there that may have children to potty train, definitely consider this book. It is not for the weak. I thought about halfway into it he had me beat. I called Barrett begging him to come home. Please save me. Anybody. I quit. I don't wanna do this anymore but once Barrett convinced me to stick with it, it worked. We had one accident Saturday and one night time accident Sunday and thats it. I think thats pretty darn good for a little boy that used a diaper completely when he woke up Friday morning! So what a great way to go out of the old year knowing that when we wake up at the start of the new year I won't have to buy diapers again.
