Sea World San Antonio 2012
Over the 4th of July Holiday we decided to take a family vacation to Sea World in San Antonio. We had gone there a couple months before with mom and dad and the kids loved it and wanted to take Barrett so we headed there again. The weather was nice for us our entire trip. After the 4th passed, the crowds were good too. That day was extremely crowded but our hotel was super close so we just left for a while and relaxed by the pool before heading back that afternoon. We spent Wednesday at SeaWorld watching shows and petting dolphins and riding rides. Wednesday evening when we went back we caught the Shamu Rocks show. It was a great show and Landon and I got completely soaked by Shamu. Thursday we headed into SeaWorld's Aquatica waterpark. The kids love this place. They had a ball all day. Barrett and I pooped out well before they did. After we left that night we went to the room and got cleaned up and headed to the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio. It was really a nice experience. We road the river boat and had dinner sitting on the water. We didn't get back to our hotel until right at 11 that night. Friday morning we headed back to SeaWorld. We didn't plan on staying this whole day but pulling into the parking lot we ended up parking directly next to one of Elena's best friends, Layla. Since we met them in the parking lot, we just kind of hung out all day. They have 2 kids, a girl Elena's age and a boy 2 years older than Landon. They all go to the same summer school and the kids just love hanging out with each other so we made a day of it. And we were so busy going and doing all day that before we knew it, our day was over. We had spent another entire day at SeaWorld. Our last day we went back to Aquatica. This day Landon got brave on us and decided he wanted another go at a waterslide that scared the hockey out of him, Stingray Falls. So we did it again. And then later again the same day. I was so proud of him for trying it again and then liking it so much that he wanted to do it again. He also got brave enough to try a waterslide that he was big enough to do by himself (not that they didn't have lots of those, this one was just bigger). They both ended up actually loving that one. Barrett or I would stand at the end of the line and watch them go through the line by themselves and the other of us would stand in the water at the bottom to catch them when they came down. This is where we spent a lot of our time because they thought they were so big doing everything alone. And Elena was being such a good big sister. She'd hold his hand going up the steps and then let him go down first. Anyway, it turned out to be a great family vacation. We had a fun time and the kids loved sharing it with Barrett. This is definitely a vacation we would love to do again, maybe not in 2 months like this time, but definitely again.
