This is the photograph that was taken the first time we became a real family. This was taken 10/20/2006 in Astrakhan, Russia when we met and held Elena for the first time.
We were nervous as heck to become parents. Would she like us? Will she grow bigger? Can we handle a child in our lives? Will Barrett freak out about being a father? All of these questions were answered the moment we held her in our arms. She was perfect for us and we were perfect for her. We were totally meant to be a family.
Now it has been almost 1 1/2 years since Elena joined our family and we couldn't be happier. She has brought so much joy into our lives. So much of her personality is like mine it probably makes Barrett sick and so much of her adventurous side is like Barrett's that it makes me a nervous wreck.
We love her more than anything and would give everything for her.
